Join us at UC San Diego’s Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club for this is a special opportunity for those involved in education to gain ideas, share programs, and obtain information on implementing civic learning in the classroom for grades K-12.   Hear from teachers and students from award winning schools on civic learning, and our special guest speaker:  The Hon. M. Margaret McKeown, Circuit Judge, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

JA Stock Market Challenge


Hello supporters of Economic Education!

Junior Achievement is PROUD to present a new event and student competition!

JA Stock Market Challenge will be a FUN and exciting event for students to experience a fast paced simulation of 90 days of trading.

Join us! Space is limited and team registration deadline is fast approaching.

The event is at NO COST to teachers and students.

Preparatory curriculum is provided for optional use.

Adult competition will take place the same evening. If you are interested in participating in the adult event please feel free to reach out for additional information.

Workshop: Fundamentals of Environmental Economics

This one-day workshop is designed to familiarize middle and high school teachers and curriculum specialists with a non-biased approach that introduces the basics of environmental economics and provides effective classroom simulations to introduce the concepts into the classroom.

Workshop: Energize your Economics Course

Econ is fun!

Join Dirk Mateer and Charity-Joy Acchiardo for an enjoyable day of economics. Dirk and Charity-Joy use pop culture to draw students into learning economics. They use clips from popular television shows and movies to demonstrate economic concepts and engage students in interactive activities so they can experience economics firsthand. They use bargaining games to demonstrate asymmetric information, karaoke to visualize the law of supply, tennis balls to represent diminishing returns, and much more! This is your chance to experience these lessons first hand and get a sneak peek into their media library and latest projects.

Workshop – Civic Education Teacher Training

This five-day training for teachers of 8th and 12th grade social studies will include content presentations by respected scholars, lesson demonstrations by mentor teachers, and time to share best practices with colleagues. Lodging, meals and travel stipend are provided.
